I think you could be right Northern, pretty sure it won the derby on its first run as a 3 year old. Another Stoute runner who was similar in style was Conduit.

Nice story in todays paper Swinburn went with his two daughters to a riding school in Hyde Park.
The riding instructor didn't recognise Swinburn and told him his posture on the horse was all wrong.

Sold, Shergar only ran a few races as well before he was turned out to stud and before he ended up as horse meat

Lammtarra raced 4 times.... won it's maiden... 2nd race won the Derby... 3rd race won the KGVI and QEII Stakes... and 4th and last race won the Arc... then off to stud... has the to be the lightest raced Derby/Arc winner ever ??

Check out his ride on Lammtarra in the 1995 Derby, came from no-where to win it. I meant to back it in the morning at about 20s but forgot as I was playing cricket or something, I was gutted when I found it had won.

steve cauthen was the best i ever saw. but swinburn had a great career.
i remember starkey fucked up to lose the derby on Dancing Brave ; Swinburn was unfairly forgotten as the winner

I think they said he was suffering with Epilepsy but how that relates I do not know, you are right he was very young to die.
